A new advert which was shown in the advert break during the I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Here! launch revealed the funnyman is returning next month. The 49-year-old, will release tickets for his hotly-anticipated return on Saturday, five years after he cancelled a tour. The performer had been due to go on a massive tour from April 2018 through to summer 2019, but it in December 2017 pulled out due to ‘unforeseen family circumstances’. It will be his first live tour since 2010, when he scored the Guinness World Record for the biggest selling run of all time, playing to more than 1.2 million people. The new tour will kick off in Manchester on December 2 this year and is scheduled to run until August 11. Return of the comedy king! Peter appeared at a theatre in Salford and had ‘new material’ for the lucky fans who were invited to attend. Paula, who is a fan of the comedian, took to Twitter to share her experience at the exciting ‘secret’ shows. She penned: ‘Omg just been to a secret gig with Peter Kay at The Lowry. Best night of my life ever, that guy is a legend. Phones in locked pounces, secret ticket collection, the lot. Still buzzing.’ Other Twitter users asked Paula to provide further details, but she kept things vague and responded: ‘It was the weirdest but best experience ever. He is just such a grounded fella. The performer said on December 13, 2017: ‘Due to unforeseen family circumstances, I deeply regret that I am having to cancel all of my upcoming work projects. ‘This unfortunately includes my upcoming standup tour, Dance for Life shows and any outstanding live work commitments. ‘My sincerest apologies. This decision has not been taken lightly and I’m sure you’ll understand my family must always come first.’ He had previously been due to make a comeback with the series of Dance For Life shows to raise money for Cancer Research UK in April and May 2020. But the events had to be postponed in March last year because of the Covid-19 pandemic.
