Mr Orna-Ornstein said “children really matter to us” and they want to “grow up loving our cottages”, but “this is not going to happen by accident”. “Sudbury Hall is not just for kids, it’s by kids,” he told the meeting. “Over a period of two years, we worked with young children, listened to them and worked with them to develop activities and plans for Sudbury. We think this is something we can do in more places.” He said they have recently “committed as an executive team to put more emphasis on the game”. The Trust said last night that its plans to consult children were largely related to outdoor spaces. Mr Orna-Ornstein told The Telegraph: “The Children’s Country House is unique and we currently have no plans to replicate this approach in other homes. Our focus over the next 18 months is on our outdoor play offering .”
