Trevor “Pepsi” Hamlyn’s sister is remembering her brother as someone who always looked out for others. Trevor disappeared from his Imogene Crescent home in Paradise in June of 2018. His remains were finally located last week in the area of Three Island Pond Road. Ashley Hamlyn, Trevor’s younger sister, says her brother could always put a smile on her face and the family is relieved they can finally put him to rest and say goodbye properly. She describes experiencing a rollercoaster of emotions over the last week. She says the fact that he was found so close to where he disappeared is a relief, but also upsetting. She says there’s a guilt associated with not being able to find him when he was close to home. Being able to lay Trevor to rest, she says, will give the family closure, and allow them to finish the grieving process. She thanks the community for their support and all the stories they’ve heard about Trevor. She says they’ve received so many messages of love and support, as well as story after story of Trevor’s generous nature and sense of humour. A memorial service is planned in the metro region for his large circle of family and friends. In the meantime, the family plans to have Trevor buried with his father in Grand Falls-Windsor.
