If you want to stay unscathed in the face of Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, you’ll want to look away — and maybe even stay away from social media, where Pokémon are constantly trending as new information spills out online. The leakers seem to have obtained an early copy of the game. Most of the leaks are off-screen photos taken of Pokémon Scarlet and Violet being played on a Nintendo Switch console. The Twitter account from which the images originated, however, appears to have been suspended or deleted. One of the most anticipated leaks concerns Scarlet and Violet’s initial evolutions: The leaker posted some photos of Fuecoco’s evolved form, which is called Crocalor. From these images, the explosion of Fuecoco’s fiery yellow hair transforms into a glowing hat. The leaker posted a few more screenshots showing allegedly new, unseen Pokémon and variants — Flamigo, a pink flamingo. Tarantula, a bulbous spider. Paldean Vivillon, the butterfly-like creature with a new color scheme. Paldean Tauros, painted a deep, dark black. and Dolliv, the evolution of Smoliv. Another leaker, via 4chan, posted another new Pokémon – a possible parakeet Pokémon that has a fluffy bouffant. Netizens say it’s a screenshot from the opening of Scarlet and Violet, but Polygon can’t confirm its authenticity or any of these leaks. The parrot, however, looks exactly like a Pokémon lurking in an earlier trailer from October. the green bird is seen next to some other unannounced Pokémon on a minimap. Polygon has reached out to Nintendo and The Pokémon Company for comment on the leaked images. We will update this post when the companies respond. The Pokémon Company continues to release new information about Scarlet and Violet ahead of the November 18 release. Over the weekend – and following a leak of Pokémon Go data mining files – the Pokémon Company unveiled a new Pokémon with two forms, Gimmighoul. It’s part of a promotion between Scarlet and Violet and Pokémon Go. the treasure chest form appears to be what is available in the main game, while the roaming form, without the box, is part of Pokémon Go. The Pokémon Company will also release a new Pokémon Scarlet and Violet trailer on Tuesday morning, one it says fans “won’t want to miss.”
