UPDATE 12:50 p.m Emergency crews are responding to a three-vehicle crash at Harvey Avenue and Dilworth Drive that is causing long delays. The taxi collision partially blocks the intersection. Witnesses say no one appeared to be seriously injured and everyone was out of the vehicle waiting for tow trucks to arrive. Traffic picks up significantly on Harvey Avenue. There are also reports of a minor crash on the freeway at the Highway 33 intersection. Police advised drivers who do not absolutely need to travel to stay home. UPDATE 9:53 a.m Traffic has returned to normal on Highway 97 near Old Vernon Rd. after a crash slowed the Monday morning commute. ORIGINAL 8:40 AM Traffic on Highway 97 is slow in the southbound lane near Kelowna International Airport Monday morning. The crash appears to be in the southbound lane near the south end of Ellison Lake, traffic is backed up from Old Vernon Rd. in Jamery. Environment Canada has issued a snowfall warning for Kelowna calling for more snowfall accumulation near 5cm. combined with strong northwesterly winds creating snow conditions. Snow is expected to taper off this afternoon as the low moves further south. If you are traveling to YLW this morning, it is recommended that you check departures online as there were several delays and cancellations on Monday morning as well.
