Responding officers reportedly found several canisters of compressed air in the singer’s bathroom — where his body was discovered Saturday — as well as in the bedroom of his Lancaster, Calif., home, law enforcement sources told TMZ on Monday. The agency also reports that officers found bottles of prescription pills at the scene. Abusing inhalants, or “snorting” products like compressed air, can cause permanent brain damage that can lead to irreversible neurological deficits, according to the American Centers on Addiction. Carter, who has died aged 34, first revealed his huffing addiction during a 2019 episode of ‘The Doctors’. At the time, he claimed that his late sister, Leslie Carter, was the one who introduced him to the habit. He fatally overdosed in 2012 at the age of 25. “It’s something I’ve kept a secret from the whole world until now,” he shared at the time, noting that he started buzzing when he was “about 16 years old.” Responding officers reportedly found canisters of compressed air and bottles of prescription pills in Aaron Carter’s bathroom, where his body was discovered Saturday.Instagram/Aaron Carter Aaron said he “didn’t really hit it” until he was “about 23,” right after he competed on Season 9 of “Dancing With the Stars” in 2009. “I started going to Staples and Office Depot and different places, buying it with cash so it wouldn’t be on the receipts or anything like that, so nobody could track me down,” he admitted. “I snapped because I was really stupid and sad, but that’s not really an excuse. I was fooling around because I’m a drug addict.” It is unclear whether Aaron was struggling with an active huffing addiction at the time of his death. However, TMZ reported last month that officers showed up at his home for a welfare check after fans watching his Instagram Live worried he was fooling around. Officers told the store they found no drugs at the scene, and no criminal activity. She told the Sun at the time that a court order ruled that Martin’s mother had temporary custody of Prince because of domestic violence and drug use concerns. Of his “abstinence program,” Aaron said it included “group therapy, parenting classes [and] domestic violence classes’. In his adult life, he was diagnosed with multiple personality disorder, schizophrenia and severe anxiety. It is unclear if he was taking medication for the above at the time of his death. Law enforcement sources previously told TMZ that the singer’s housekeeper was the last person to see him alive at 2 a.m. Friday after officers showed up to perform a well-being check on him. It is unclear who made the request. The agency reported that Aaron told the officers to leave and ordered his housekeeper to leave him alone. According to TMZ, the housekeeper didn’t see him for the rest of the day, only going into his bedroom on Saturday morning to see if he wanted coffee. The outlet further claimed that she allegedly heard her dog behind the door distressed, so she went inside and found his lifeless body in the bathtub. She then frantically called 9-1-1 to report the suspected drowning. It is unclear whether Aaron was struggling with an active huffing addiction at the time of his death.
