Olivia Attwood says she’s ‘hurt’ to leave I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! 24 hours after the show starts in Australia. The Love Island star pulled out earlier today after an examination by the jungle medical team found it was “unsafe” for her to return to camp. A post on Attwood’s Instagram story said: ‘To say Olivia is heartbroken would be an understatement. “He’s dreamed of doing ‘I’m a Celeb’ for years, and he’s absolutely loved every second of the show and jumping into jungle life feet first (as we knew he would). “However, for reasons beyond her control, her journey was cut short. “Your support and kind words mean the absolute world to her, now as much as ever. “You will hear the truth from Olivia in due course and she will be back on your screens in the New Year. The post teased the entry of MP and former health secretary Matt Hancock into the I’m a Celeb jungle – who is yet to be officially confirmed as a contestant by ITV. Attwood’s post read: “Ps Who’s going to roast Matt Hancock now?” Atwood’s departure from the show was announced on Monday afternoon, with the episode airing tonight. In a statement a spokesperson for the show said: “As a precautionary measure Olivia had to leave the jungle to undergo medical checks. “Unfortunately, the medical team has advised that it is not safe for Olivia to return to camp as she needs further investigation. “She was absolutely brilliant and will be sorely missed on the show.” The show is back for 2022 on Sunday night with a new batch of ten celebrities entering the Australian jungle for the first time since 2019. For the last two years I have been a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! shot at Gwrych Castle in North Wales due to travel restrictions brought on by the Covid pandemic. Love Island star Attwood was among the celebs revealed during the public vote to become jungle VIPs, but it wasn’t as luxurious as it first appeared as they later discovered it stood for ‘Very Isolated People’. Attwood was allowed to choose one person to join her for a meal and chose radio DJ Chris Moyles. Becoming a Jungle VIP meant they spent their first night holed up on an island, alongside TV presenter and property expert Scarlett Douglas and Culture Club star Boy George, before facing their first trial of the series. Their challenge saw Attwood insert her hand into small worm-infested wall openings in an attempt to unscrew the pipe fittings inside and stop the flow of water into the chambers that held Boy George and Moyles. Attwood rose to fame in 2017 on hit dating show Love Island and ahead of the new series said she was looking forward to dispelling the misconception that she is ‘high maintenance’ and can’t get by without make-up.
