The order was issued at 10 Whalley Street, Eastfield, by the local neighborhood policing team (NPT) on Friday (November 4) following a successful application at Cambridge Magistrates’ Court for the order to last until February 3, 2023. The order states that the premises are subject to a closure order as the use of the premises has led to or is likely to lead to disorderly, offensive or criminal behaviour. The house in Whalley Street Prohibits entry of any person to the premises except the legal tenant, emergency service workers and tenant support professionals. The action came as a result of frequent reports of property damage and anti-social behaviour, including drug-related activity over the past six months, which has become increasingly worse in recent months. Sergeant Sarah Phillips, from the East NPT in Peterborough, said: “This action was taken in recognition of the impact on the community and to protect those potentially vulnerable to crime. “I know this order will make a really positive difference to residents’ quality of life and should serve as a reminder to those who continue to make life miserable for their neighbors that we will not tolerate it.” Failure to comply with the order is a criminal offense punishable by imprisonment for up to three months, a fine or both.
