People magazine has crowned actor Chris Evans as the year’s sexiest man alive.
The revelations were made on “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert,” with the help of John Oliver and Dwayne Johnson.
Shortly after the show aired, Oliver sat in the show’s audience as Colbert announced the winner from two finalists — Oliver and Evans, who Colbert called “a red-hot supernova of hotness.”
When Evans’ name was announced, a horrified Oliver booed the crowd and stormed off, demanding a “recount” as he left.
The former “Captain America” star, who was unable to appear on the show, was congratulated by Johnson on filming their movie, “Red One.”
“It means a lot coming from a former sexiest man alive,” Evans tells Johnson in the video.
Johnson, a 2016 Sexiest Man Alive cover star, however, continues to correct him: “I’m never giving up on the title…. I’m the sexiest man alive, which means for life.”
Evans, confused, tries to get clarification, but Johnson stops him.
“Let me ask you a question, brother. Am I alive?… Am I still sexy? You bet I’m your hot mouth. We share it!”
Evans agrees and the two sexiest men alive are apparently living happily ever after. But not before Johnson urged his co-star to say something “sexy” on camera and Evans obliged.
“Go vote tomorrow.”
Evans succeeds Marvel colleague Paul Rudd in the sexiest mantle.
